I have back yard and side yard buddies that I don’t own. But I get the joy of their friendly whinnies and brays as they keep me company while I garden. And sometimes we share a carrot or two. One of them left us for greener pastures this summer and the scene is a little empty.
Tender times like these are always a good reminder to linger a little longer at the fence, chat a little more across the way, and scratch behind those ears as often as possible.
Goodbye my gentle mule friend. Thanks for the over the fence visits and for not eating too many of my raspberries bushes… Enjoy that perfect raspberry patch in the sky!
